Music

Everywhere i go there is music.  You almost cant go anywhere that doesn’t have it playing in the background.  It is as if our lives are a movie and the soundtrack is already there.  When I workout i listen to my workout mix, which is full of high energy, angry, or fast paced songs to motivate me.  the same goes for driving ironically I try to listen to slow music because i won’t speed as much.   I found myself this week making a playlist for what I would want to be my soundtrack for today through the day I leave for the Appalachian Trial,  especially the day I leave. I see an underlying theme in all these songs. Maybe that’s why I feel they best fit this moment. The songs I have right now are:

  1. Hero – Family of the Year
  2. Society – Eddie Vedder
  3. Gypsy – Fleetwood Mac
  4. Colder Weather – Zac Brown Band
  5. Step Out – Jose Gonzales
  6. The Wanderer – O.A.R.
  7. Against the Grain – City and Color
  8. City – Sara Bareilles
  9. I Take My Chances – Mary Chapin Carpenter
  10. Stay Alive – Jose Gonzales
  11. New Hampshire – Jason Reeves
  12. Southern Comfort Zone – Brad Paisley
  13. When I’m Gone – Anna Kendrick
  14. Before I Go – Unwritten Law
  15. Awake My Soul – Mumford & Sons
  16. Gypsy In My Soul – Van Morrison
  17. Boston – Augustana
  18. Something’s Missing – John Mayer
  19. Miracle Mile – Cold War Kids
